Strength, Power, Core Strength

Posted on 01 July 2010

Everybody from elite athletes to a beginner to exercise or elderly person needs strength, power and core strength if they want to optimize there performance.

Clearly performance to an elite athletes is targetted at a medal, trophy or title, whereas an 80 year old lady wants to be able to move well and be able to stand up from a chair without assistance.

The principles are the same, it is only the intensity/weight/volume/movement pattern which changes.

Even the movement patterns still take the same path, they just might not be as explosive or dynamic.

Here’s a small sample of some of the exercises I use on a daily basis in my own training which should be a staple diet for any sportsmen.

Clearly these are not beginner exercises but the principles of learning to integrate your body to generate strength and power are critical for anyone of any level who wants to improve their strength, power and speed whilst reducing their risk of injury.
