Fat Loss First Aid

After going on a First Aid refresher course last week, it got me thinking about what I would do if I was fat and getting sick all the time.

What would be my first actions prioritized to ensure rapid results?

Given the state of most people’s health these days due to what amounts to poisoning with chemicals and heavy metals in the water supply, air pollution, processed foods, neurotoxins in soft drinks, mental stress and a whole range of other negative lifestyle choices, it really can be life saving.

The results may not come in 2 minutes like a good dose of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, but by following these five steps religiously for the next eight weeks, I can all but guarantee you will see your energy levels surge, your immune system improve ten fold, your body fat plummet and huge improvements to your skin, hair, muscle aches and outlook on life.

First Aid of the car-crash type follows the acronym DR ABC.

Funnily enough the Storm Force Fitness health and fat loss first aid protocol isn’t too far off so here goes….

DANGER

What dangers do you face to living a vibrant, healthy lifestyle and having an athletic physique?

To answer this you need to take time to assess your surroundings.

Don’t just dive in like most people do (you know the ones who pile into the gym on January 1st but disappear within a few weeks. They never take time to assess their lifestyle but figure a blast on the same cross trainer that hasn’t worked for the last 12 months, will magically work this time…)

How dangerous are your so-called friends and family?

Some will be great friends and spur you on if not join you at the gym or out running. However, we all have those passion vampire friends who do nothing but moan about how unfair life is and how they’re always going to be fat due to any number of excuses.

None of which are their fault obviously….

You become whatever you surround yourself with so choose carefully. If you want truly life-saving results, this can require big, upsetting, uncomfortable decisions.

Remember it is always easier to be pulled back down than to pull someone else up. You have to be willing to battle.

Assess the danger in your house too.

Clear the fridge and cupboards out of all the processed junk and fizzy drinks (yes even the Bailey’s and beer). Don’t assume you’ll just be strong!

Remove all the things from your bedroom which stop you sleeping properly. TV’s, radios, mobile phones and laptops have no place in the bedroom. Remove these sources of electromagnetic waves and they will allow your brain to rest much more at night for better sleep and better mornings!

RESPONSE

If an injured party doesn’t respond in an emergency situation and they aren’t breathing, protocol states we call the Big Guns in with their arsenal of recovery weaponry. If there is no response, don’t keep doing what you’re doing!

The insanity of carrying on doing what doesn’t work and paying money to do it, can be seen week in, week out across the land what is ironically called the fitness industry.

Fat people stay fat, sick people stay sick, and gym owners stay rich without delivering results.

If you’ve been banging your head on a brick wall with no results there’s a secret tip to use.

STEP AWAY FROM THE WALL!

Stop dieting.

You won’t get a response (please note a solid nutrition plan based on natural foods is not a diet)

Stop doing aerobics only or asking the same useless gym instructor for advice.

You won’t get a response.

Stop taking multivitamins based on RDA’s which are often 10-100 times less than required by the human body.

You won’t get a response.

Stop going to your GP for health advice.

They are brought up by their pharmaceutical parents to give you pills, vaccines and potions which often contain more damaging substances.

You won’t get a long-term, life-changing response just a bigger prescription list and a thinner wallet.

If it hasn’t worked for years it isn’t going to work now so go find something else which has science and real life testimonials to back it up. If it sounds too good to be true, it’s either Storm Force Fitness or it actually is too good to be true.

AIRWAY

Are you getting enough oxygen?

Most people in the Western world are chronically low on oxygen creating ‘anaerobic’ environments in their bodies. The same environments that cancer thrives in.

Get outside more and take part in exercise that REALLY gets your lungs working.

Oxygenate your body and see how much better you feel.

Muscles or more accurately the cells within muscles burn calories and muscles need oxygen to work properly.

Get outside at lunch.

Do aerobic exercise but don’t obsess over it. Combine it with intense weight training and the fat loss and health benefits will astound you.

Also use transdermal magnesium (a spray rubbed into the skin) to improve the ‘breathability’ of your cells, reduce your blood pressure, improve insulin sensitivity and a whole lot more – make use of your new oxygen supply!

BREAK FREE

Even if you have opened the airways and the oxygen is flowing again through your body, you need to make sure the fuel entering your body is in the right quantities but most importantly is the right fuel!

It’s time for you to break free and take the shackles of crap food and fluids off your body.

Right now the chances are you are full of toxins from tap water and pollution, chemicals from processed foods, antibiotics and growth hormone from excess meat and are severely lacking in vitamins, minerals and healthy fats.

In combination this means you feel lethargic, can’t concentrate for long and are a walking recipe for any number of common disease and illnesses.

Not much of a way to live!

No surprises that you’re permanently tired and regularly get colds and annoying illnesses! Remember the last time you had 8 hours sleep straight through and woke up buzzing?

I didn’t think so but don’t worry the person closest to you right now probably isn’t much better.

Break free by giving your body the fuel it wants!

Drink 3-4 litres of bottled water every single day to help flush the toxins out and give your body the most important nutrient of all!

Also, at EVERY meal have raw vegetables, some healthy fats from avocado, nuts, seeds, ground flax seed, flax seed oil, olive oil or coconut oil and some protein. Choose fish where possible, ease off on the meat and what you do eat must be organic and grass fed so you’re not further poisoning yourself and eat a range of beans and pulses throughout each week. Also include fermented soy products occasionally such as miso, tempeh and organic tofu.

The fats will also help ramp up your metabolism as well

After intense exercise eat organic fruits and maybe some rice while insulin sensitivity is elevated. This is also a good time to get the beans and pulses in.

Totally eradicate alcohol, wheat, dairy and caffeine from your diet.

CONTINUITY

Now that you have the basics in place you need to keep it up.

This is akin to putting yourself in the recovery position!

Duh! Obvious yet often overlooked as people get annoyed if they don’t lose 3 stones in 2 weeks.

Remember that the more you have destroyed your body and hormone systems with diets, alcohol, partying and mental stress, the longer it can take to reset everything.

The important factors here are continuity, support and enjoyment.

If you train properly, you won’t always enjoy it.

Effective exercise hurts at times.

That said, at first the added stress of hard exercise may make you worse. If you are highly stressed you may prefer to start with some outdoor cardio work running in the forest or on the beach.

A good yoga class may also be more appropriate.

I’ve seen people look and feel better by REDUCING their levels of intense exercise and taking time to chill allowing their stress hormones to subside thus moving them out of a fat storage zone! Research the effects of cortisol for more information on this.

If a hard exercise class makes you feel better then great, go for it but be aware that if you are training hard and eating well with little to show in the way of results, it may be that your stress hormones are still flying around like a pinball!

Also ensure you find something a training method you actually want to go to on a regular basis because you enjoy it. You might not want to for the first week or two but if it’s working, you’ll start to love the effects and won’t have to drag yourself to the gym / sports club!

Your chance of success will be much higher if you find someone else to do it with you or if you can do it as part of a group you interact with regularly for support and kick up the backside when required!

So there you have it.

    Thanks again, Jon. A simple and easy to understand blog. I always share your good advice. The hardest vice for me is removing the caffeine. Everything but that has fallen away. Grr!
